Moderation policy

Last updated: July 12, 2026 · Orbly

Orbly is not a thought-policing platform. This page clarifies what is removed due to legal necessity and what remains free.

1. What is NOT banned platform-wide

Opinion, criticism, dissent, humor, mockery, harsh language, and quoting opposing views.

Differing views on controversial topics — Orbly does not cut visibility based on opinion.

Link sharing and domain-neutrality: external links are not penalized.

2. Removed due to legal necessity

Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and similar content that is strictly prohibited by law.

Directly unlawful content (e.g., explicit threats, instructions for illegal trade) — on court/authority request or a clear legal basis.

Spam, fraud, and automation abuse: not opinion censorship; a security and abuse-prevention layer.

3. Personal filters ≠ platform censorship

Block, mute, word mute, orbit mute, and the "Following only" feed option are under your control.

These are not the platform imposing "correct thinking" — they let you manage your own timeline.

4. Transparency

Legal removals are summarized in the public moderation log (without personal data).

We do not quietly suppress content because of an opinion (no shadowbanning); you can check your visibility status from account settings.
